Protest Israeli War Criminals @ IODSC – No Profits for Genocide!

Event by Students for Palestine WA and Friends of Palestine WA

Thursday 25th July 2024 @ 12 midday at Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre

From the 24th July anti-war groups will be protesting the Indian Ocean Defence & Security Conference.
As part of this conference, Israeli weapons company Rafael systems will be doing a presentation about their “precision strike technology”. This presentation is specifically pitched as drawing on “Rafael’s recent contributions to facing challenges defending Israel’s population in light of the attacks the country had to face”. So – it is directly about the contribution Rafael has played in helping Israel slaughter over 37,000 Palestinians.
Students for Palestine WA will be protesting this specific event to voice our opposition to Rafael Systems being promoted and selling their weapons to more imperialist powers at this conference. This will be occurring at 12pm Thursday 25th July.
Curtin University is a major sponsor at this conference so students have to voice our active opposition to a conference promoting death and destruction.
Be there as part of the rolling protests happening against IODS starting from July 24th, 7am.
More information below:
The full description of the Rafael Defence Systems session happening at the conference as stated on the IODS website:
“Air Défense Overmatch and Long-Range Precision-Strike Capabilities An informative, videographic talk about Rafael’s air-defense technologies and capabilities, including its overview on multi-layered air & missile defense architecture, as well as on precision-strike technologies and solutions. The talk will further expound on innovations and how new technological trends may be applied in the battlefield, as well as on how to integrate new technologies and capabilities into existing systems and architectures. The talk will be enriched by Rafael’s recent contributions to facing challenges in defending Israel’s population and strategic assets in light of the unprecedented long-range strategic attacks the country had to face.”
Rafael’s active role in the Gaza genocide:
“The new “Nizoz” (Spark) surveillance drone manufactured by Rafael, a state-owned weapons contractor that forms the Big Three of Israel’s arms industry with IAI and Elbit, has reportedly now entered the current Gaza war. Rafael has an order backlog which currently stands at $10.1bn. Al Jazeera approached Elbit Systems, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems and IAI for comment but the firms were yet to respond before time of publication.”
