The newspaper revealed that the bodies are stored in refrigerated containers inside a military base and are categorized by numbers rather than names. It also reported that the bodies are in poor condition, having reached a state of decomposition, with some limbs missing and others unrecognizable. It is likely, the report suggests, that these individuals were killed at the beginning of the war.
The National Campaign for the Retrieval of Martyr Bodies has just stated: “What Haaretz has published is only the tip of the iceberg concerning the mistreatment and handling of the victims’ bodies.”
The campaign adds: “We have documented the mistreatment of victims’ bodies in the streets, including being run over by vehicles and dragged. Some bodies were left on the roads for days, and there were mass graves. Moreover, the Israeli occupation army has attacked cemeteries in Gaza, destroying them and stealing bodies from cemeteries and hospitals such as Al-Shifa and Nasser.”
What sadism! What inhumanity from the perpetrators and all those who remain silent!
