Public Forum: Israel's war on Palestine

  • 23/11/2023
  • 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
  • Social Sciences Lecture Theatre, University of WA
Media coverage of Israel's war on Palestine suggests it began with Hamas's Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, on 7 October, provoking an Israeli invasion of Gaza.
However, Palestinians have faced a war of occupation and ethnic cleansing since Israel was created, in May 1948. In the lead up to the apartheid state's declaration of independence, Zionist militia destroyed 530 Palestinian villages, e
xpelling 750,000 Palestinians from their homeland.
Today, Israeli politicians have declared their intention to create a new Palestinian 'Nakba' (Catastrophe). Israeli member of Knesset Ariel Kallner called for a second ‘Nakba’ to take place in Gaza on 8 October.
This public meeting will address the history and context of Israel's genocidal campaign against the Palestinians and how we can build a solidarity movement to resist it.
