* URGENT UPDATE! THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED! Despite the International Court of Justice’s interim orders calling on Israeli to prevent acts of genocide and allow humanitarian aid, Israel’s offensive in Gaza remains unrelenting. Bombing and sniper attacks have intensified in the south of Gaza, targeting Khan Younis and Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from the north have sought refuge, many living in squalid refugee camps.
Since October 7, nearly 30,000 deaths have been recorded (a third being children) and 65,000 injured. Many more deaths are likely to arise from hunger and disease.
We will rally at 4pm and march at 415pm, stopping at businesses that profit from the Israeli occupation.
We call on the Australian government to: - end its support for Israel’s genocidal war - cease all trade and diplomatic ties with apartheid Israel - restore UNRWA humanitarian aid funding - advocate for an arms embargo against Israel.
